When I published my first item on Vinted, I thought it was enough to upload a few photos and wait.
I was wrong.
After hundreds of sales, thousands of conversations with buyers, and over €12,000 sold on the platform, I discovered that there are small details that make a huge difference.
Many sellers believe the problem is the algorithm.
The reality is that most listings are not optimized for selling.
These are the tips that have had the most impact on my results.
1. Interact with the community
One of the most common mistakes is only logging into Vinted to upload products.
Vinted works like a social network.
The more you participate, the more activity your profile generates.
That's why I recommend:
Favoriting items.
Following similar profiles.
Saving items.
Responding quickly to messages.
Maintaining daily activity.
There's no magic formula, but an active profile usually generates more engagement than a completely passive one.
2. Add measurements from the start
If you've been selling for a while, you know what's going to happen.
Even if the measurements appear in the photos, someone will ask for them again.
That's why I always recommend including:
Width.
Height.
Length.
Strap drop.
Approximate capacity.
The more information you provide, the fewer unnecessary messages you'll receive.
And the fewer doubts the buyer will have.
3. Show the product worn
This tip completely changed my sales.
Most buyers don't buy objects.
They buy an idea.
They buy inspiration.
They buy how they imagine themselves using that product.
That's why I always try to show bags worn whenever possible.
A photograph on a hanger doesn't convey the same message as a photograph where the real size and how it looks when combined can be appreciated.
4. Take care of the photographs
Photos are your shop window.
Before reading a description, the buyer has already made an emotional decision based on the images.
My recommendations are:
Natural light.
Clean background.
Multiple perspectives.
Photos of flaws.
Photos of the interior.
Photos of important details.
5. Respond quickly
Many buyers compare several items at the same time.
Sometimes the difference between selling or not selling simply depends on who responds first.
6. Describe flaws honestly
Hiding flaws usually leads to returns, bad reviews, and loss of trust.
It's always better to show flaws from the beginning.
7. Specialize in a niche
One of the changes that helped me the most was stopping selling a bit of everything.
When you start specializing in a particular category, buyers begin to recognize you.
In my case, it was vintage handbags.
8. Learn which products are in demand
Not all items are equally easy to sell.
There are brands, styles, and trends that generate much more interest than others.
That's why it's important to observe what actually sells, not just what you personally like.
9. Keep your profile active
Updating listings, uploading new items, and maintaining constant activity usually generate better results than publishing twenty products and disappearing for weeks.
10. Think of each sale as an experience
The difference between an occasional seller and a brand lies in the details.
Packaging.
Communication.
Presentation.
Photographs.
Everything adds up.
Much of what I learned selling on Vinted eventually became the foundation upon which I would later build Barrokha.
Conclusion
After thousands of interactions and over €12,000 sold, I can say that selling on Vinted isn't just about finding good products.
It's about learning how to present them.
Because people don't just buy handbags.
They buy stories, trust, and inspiration.
